The story hidden behind

On 10 September 1939 German forces reached Ostrołęka. The city was integrated into the Third Reich. A minority of citizens of Ostrołęka declared themselves as Volksdeutsche and signed the Volksliste. The majority of the Jewish population in Ostrołęka was murdered in Treblinka. Those that survived the Holocaust emigrated mostly to Israel.
